Energy Planning and Reporting

To support Ontario's long-term energy plan that encourages the use of clean, affordable energy, as well as to support the energy conservation targets and reduce greenhouse gas emissions province-wide, Ontario Regulation 507/18 was established in 2019 under the re-instated Electricity Act. This Regulation requires that two key deliverables be made publicly available by all broader public sector (BPS) organizations, including school boards.

As part of this requirement, the Halton Catholic District School Board presents the following deliverables below:

Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Report

Effective July 1, 2013, broader public sector (BPS) organizations have been required to report the annual energy consumption of all of their sites through a standardized template.

The completed Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Reports below, summarize the use of electricity and natural gas for each Board site during the specified time period.

Energy Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Plan

The 2019 5-Year Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan is a comprehensive account of HCDSB’s energy conservation strategies. It identifies our energy management goals and objectives, current and proposed efficiency measures, and outlines a strategic framework within which the Board can effectively manage costs, identify opportunities for savings, and measure the resulting improvements.

Note: both the Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Report and the 5-Year Energy Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Plan are available in hard copy format at the Catholic Education Centre - Main Board Office.
