For the health and safety of our community, all schools and Board offices will remain closed to visitors during this time.  Volunteer Information

St. Mark’s volunteers are a valued part of the life and culture of St. Mark Catholic School. Their commitment and devotion is essential to the success of our school and adds to the richness of student experiences.

We are blessed by the many ways you offer your time, talents and energy in helping the children and staff.

 What Volunteers Need to Know

1.    All volunteers are expected to follow the principles and requirements as outlined in POLICY NO: II-37 –Volunteers in Catholic Schools & POLICY NO: VI – 14 Transportation of Students in Private Vehicles Driven by Volunteer Drivers.
2.    All volunteers must have a CRC / VSC.
3.    A volunteer must adhere to the confidentiality rules as outlined by the principal.
4.    Volunteers must respect the confidentiality of the relationship to the school, being careful to ensure that a student’s work and behaviour in school, be held in confidence.​
5.    All Volunteer Drivers have completed the “Authorization to Drive Students Participating in School.pdfAuthorization to Drive Students Participating in School form and have been authorized by the principal to be a Volunteer Driver (see aforementioned form).
6.    Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age.
7.    It is understood that a volunteer is a person who serves without remuneration.
8.    A volunteer must be under the direction and supervision of the principal.
9.    Volunteers are familiar with and follow all Fire Evacuation and Lockdown Procedures.
10. Volunteers are familiar with all Anaphylaxis Protocols and action plans (teacher will review with classroom volunteers).
11. Volunteers follow all protocols for visitors in the school (wear Volunteer Badges).
12. Volunteers report any disclosure of child abuse directly to the principal.
