Helena Karabela

I was first elected in 2014, and sought re-election to continue to build on my successes in passionately serving the community of HCDSB.

I am a freelance photographer (BAA, Ryerson ’86), homemaker, community volunteer, and a motivational speaker on issues relating to education, marriage, and the family. I speak English, French and Czech.

With my husband Henry, we have raised our family in Oakville for over 30 years. We have 6 children, ages 13-30 and 3 grandchildren.

We are parishioners of St. Matthew’s Church, where I served as a lector. We have also been privileged to be part of the parish communities of St. Michael and St. Andrew. My daughter is a long-time member of the St. Andrew’s Children’s Choir, and I volunteer as the Choir’s Communications Director.

I was founder and coordinator for 18 years of the Lakeside Girls Club in Oakville, as well as founder and 8-year Chair of the Annual Ladies Tea Fundraising event for PEV, Promotion of Education and Values.

I look forward to continue serving the Oakville community as one of your Catholic School Trustees for the next 4 years.
