I graduated from UWO and obtained my B.Ed at Lakehead University. I immediately went out to British Columbia and taught for 2 years in one of the provinces poorest communities: Fort St. James. I spent my last 17 years teaching in Halton where I taught mostly music. Among my accomplishments while teaching were the production and publication of 7 children’s musicals.
My term as “Grand Knight” with the Knights of Columbus saw the establishment of a regular community meal for the disadvantaged in
Burlington’s core with one of our Catholic churches. With the knights, I was also involved with the “Flag Relay Special Olympics” and the “Basketball Freethrow”.
My position as music coordinator with the Men’s Group at St. John the Baptist saw the establishment of the yearly “St. John the Baptist Talent Show” designed to create a better connection between home and school.
My volunteer work in the community has me involved with the “Canadian Food For Children”, 40 Days for Life and prison ministry at the Hamilton Wentworth Correction Facility.
I have laboured in music ministry at various parishes (St. John the Baptist, Holy Rosary, Ste. Philippe) and schools (Assumption, Loyola).
I look forward to serving you in this newly elected position as Burlington Trustee for the next 4 years.
