Epilepsy is a central nervous system (neurological) disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations, and sometimes loss of awareness. Seizures may include muscle spasms, mental confusion, loss of consciousness, uncontrolled body movement, vomiting and incontinence.
