All elementary schools are required to adopt either a school uniform or a school dress code. More information can be found in Policy II-41 – School Uniform Dress Code/School Dress Code.
There is a voting process that takes place at each elementary school to determine whether the school community will adopt a school uniform.
All secondary schools are required to adopt a school uniform, while meeting the expectations of the school uniform dress code in Policy II-41.
The current uniform provider for all HCDSB schools is McCarthy Uniforms.
As of February 1, 2021, McCarthy Uniforms is the sole uniform supplier for HCDSB schools. McCarthy Uniforms has been awarded the school uniform contract for the next three years.
Beginning February 1st, all new uniform items will be available for purchase through McCarthy Uniforms.
Important Notes for Parents:
- Families are still able to purchase school uniform pieces from ISW until January 31, 2021. NOTE that for the month of January, 2021, purchases must be made at the Oakville location or online only.
- Students may continue to wear ISW uniform pieces beyond February 1st and until they and/or younger siblings outgrow the items of clothing.
- Uniform items previously purchased from ISW will still qualify for the end of year uniform exchange program.
- A new change to our Board Policy II-41, School Uniform Dress Code/School Dress Code, which will come into effect on January 1, 2021, stipulates that for elementary school uniforms, parents and guardians will no longer have to purchase bottoms from the Board authorized school uniform vendor. All bottoms, regardless of where they are purchased, must be navy blue.
